Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup Engineer (L3 Support) with strong expertise in Veritas NetBackup to manage and support enterprise backup infrastructure in a mission-critical telecom environment.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of backup and recovery solutions, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and hands-on experience managing complex, multi-platform backup environments.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Provide Level 3 support for enterprise Veritas NetBackup infrastructure in a 24x7 operational environment.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of complex backup and recovery issues.

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup architectures and data protection strategies.

- Manage and administer NetBackup Master Servers, Media Servers, Clients, and Storage Units.

- Monitor backup jobs, identify failures, and ensure successful backup and recovery operations across enterprise systems.

- Configure and manage backup policies, schedules, retention policies, and Storage Lifecycle Policies (SLP).

- Administer and support backup solutions across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

- Manage integrations with storage platforms, including NetApp, EMC, HPE, and Huawei storage systems.

- Perform backup capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization activities.

- Support and execute disaster recovery (DR) procedures, backup testing, and restoration exercises.

- Collaborate with infrastructure, database, virtualization, and application teams to ensure business continuity and data protection requirements are met.

- Prepare RCA reports, maintain operational documentation, and recommend preventive measures for recurring issues.

- Participate in incident management, problem management, and change management activities in accordance with organizational processes.

- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on backup and recovery best practices.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Relevant certifications in Veritas NetBackup, backup technologies, or storage administration will be an added advantage.

- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or telecom environments with mission-critical backup infrastructure.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in rotational shifts and high-pressure production environments.
