KVM Developer - Linux/Kubernetes

Description :

The project requires expert-level support and consulting across (Garden-)linux, KVM-based virtualization, and Kubernetes platform.

The goal is to ensure stable operations, advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous optimization across the full stack.

Scope of Task :

The external contractor will independently take on the following tasks :

- Gardenlinux

- Configuration, deployment, and maintenance

- Troubleshooting OS/kernel/package issues

- Debugging custom image builds and runtime behavior

- Performance tuning and hardening

- KVM Virtualization (Core focus as KVM Developer)

- Setup and integration of KVM environments (Cloud Hypervisor, QEMU, Libvirt)

- Troubleshooting hypervisor and VM issues

- Performance optimization (compute, network, storage)

- Debugging and tuning configurations

- Gardener Kubernetes Platform

- Troubleshooting control plane & shoot clusters

- Root cause analysis for failures

- Configuration optimization

- Integration across stack

Skillset :

- Strong expertise in KVM, QEMU, Libvirt (core requirement)

- Experience with Cloud Hypervisor environments

- Linux (Debian), kernel, systemd, OS hardening

- Kubernetes & Gardener knowledge

- Networking (VLAN, bridges, SDN) & storage (NFS)

- Scripting (Golang, Python, Bash)

- Observability (Prometheus, Perses)

- RCA (P1/P2)

- Configuration improvements

- Best practices

- Knowledge transfer
