Job Description

Job Summary :


We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Administrator with 8+ years of IT infrastructure and DevOps experience to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Kubernetes platforms. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Kubernetes cluster administration, Linux systems, automation, containerization, and cloud-native technologies. The role involves designing highly available Kubernetes environments, automating infrastructure, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting application deployment pipelines.


Key Responsibilities :


- Install, configure, administer, upgrade, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes clusters with high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.


- Manage production Kubernetes environments, including cluster lifecycle management, node upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and performance tuning.


- Experience managing cloud-based Kubernetes services such as Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE is an added advantage.


- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm charts.


- Design and implement Kubernetes best practices related to networking, storage, security, RBAC, namespaces, quotas, and resource optimization.


- Configure and manage Ingress Controllers, Load Balancers, Service Mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd), and persistent storage solutions.


- Implement monitoring and logging solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Loki, Fluentd, or similar tools.


- Develop and maintain Helm charts for application deployment and lifecycle management.


- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using Ansible, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.


- Write and maintain Shell scripts for system administration, automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.


- Knowledge of Python scripting for automation and DevOps tooling is preferred.


- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.


- Work closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth application deployment and operations.


- Troubleshoot complex production issues related to Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, containers, and Linux systems.


- Implement security best practices, including image scanning, secrets management, vulnerability assessments, and Kubernetes hardening.


- Perform cluster backup, disaster recovery planning, and capacity management.


- Maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and perform system administration activities.


- Identify opportunities to automate manual operational tasks and improve deployment efficiency.


- Document infrastructure architecture, operational procedures, and standard operating guidelines.

- Kubernetes Security (RBAC, Network Policies, Secrets)


- Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana)


- Logging Tools (ELK Stack, Fluentd, Loki)


- Git Version Control


- CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)


- Troubleshooting production environments


- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, and Networking fundamentals


Preferred Skills :


- Python programming for automation


- Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools


- Experience with OpenShift is an advantage.


- Experience with Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd)


- Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)


- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices


- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments


Certifications (Preferred) :


- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)


- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)


- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration


- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)


- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure Administrator (Preferred)


Soft Skills :


- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills


- Strong communication and collaboration abilities


- Ability to work in production support and on-call environments


- Strong documentation skills


- Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to platform improvements


- Self-driven with a continuous learning mindset
