Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Kotlin Backend Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Microservices architecture to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs while ensuring clean architecture, code quality, and system reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience in backend development, database optimization, reactive programming, and modern software engineering practices.

The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot

- Build robust REST APIs and Microservices-based applications

- Work extensively with PostgreSQL including query optimization, indexing, schema design, and performance tuning

- Implement asynchronous and reactive programming using Kotlin Coroutines

- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable code following best engineering practices

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product managers to deliver high-quality solutions

- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions

- Optimize backend systems for scalability, reliability, and performance

- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues

- Ensure application security, code quality, and adherence to coding standards

- Write unit tests and integration tests using MockK, Mockito, and related testing frameworks

- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile development processes

- Work on CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes where required

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in Kotlin backend development

- Expertise in Spring Boot and backend application development

- Strong understanding of REST APIs and Microservices architecture

- Solid experience with PostgreSQL, SQL queries, indexing, and database optimization

- Experience implementing Kotlin Coroutines and reactive programming concepts

- Knowledge of software design patterns and scalable system architecture

- Experience with unit testing and code quality tools

- Hands-on experience with MockK and Mockito

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

- Experience with Git and version control systems

- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

Good to Have :

- Experience with Docker and containerized applications

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems

- Experience working with cloud platforms or distributed systems
