Role Requirements :
- Candidates must have 5 - 7 years of hands-on Kafka development experience (messaging : publish/subscribe, connectors).
- Exclude Kafka admins and Java developers with only integration experience.
- Architect-level profiles are not considered.
- Data Engineer/Analyst Profiles Only consider if they have hands-on Kafka messaging and connectors (not just streaming) and meet experience criteria.
- Location : No restriction; interviews virtual.
- Joining : January or 30-day notice acceptable.
- Work Mode : Hybrid.
Sourcing Challenges & Solutions :
- Market has limited pure Kafka developers; most profiles are Java-heavy or admin-focused.
- Expand sourcing to LinkedIn, referrals, and headhunting.
Screening Guidelines :
- Ask candidates about Kafka architecture, messaging, and connectors experience.
- Reject profiles lacking messaging or connector experience at screening stage.
