Java Lead - Backend Engineering

About the Role :

Were looking for a hands-on Java Lead to architect and scale high-performance backend systems using Spring Boot and microservices.

This is a tech-first leadership role where youll actively code, design systems, and mentor engineers. Youll play a key role in building reliable, scalable platforms while driving engineering excellence across the team.

What Youll Do :

Architecture & Development :

- Design and build scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot

- Architect and evolve microservices-based platforms

- Write clean, efficient, and production-grade code

- Optimize performance, scalability, and system reliability

System Design & Delivery :

- Own end-to-end delivery from design to production

- Create and review HLDs and LLDs

- Design robust REST APIs and distributed systems

Engineering Excellence :

- Work on database design and optimization (SQL & NoSQL)

- Implement caching (Redis) and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ)

- Ensure security, fault tolerance, and observability

Cloud & DevOps :

- Work across AWS / Azure / GCP environments

- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows

- Contribute to automation and infrastructure improvements

Operations & Reliability :

- Own production stability, incident management, and RCA

- Ensure systems meet SLA/SLO commitments

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers

- Drive code reviews, design discussions, and best practices

- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams

What We're Looking For :

Experience :

- 12-15 years of backend engineering experience

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices

- Proven experience leading and mentoring teams

Core Technical Skills :

1. Deep understanding of :

- Core Java (Collections, Multithreading)

- Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security

- Microservices architecture

2. Strong experience with :

- REST APIs and distributed systems

- Databases : MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB

- Messaging : Kafka / RabbitMQ

- Caching : Redis

Cloud & Tools :

- Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP

- Familiarity with Docker & Kubernetes (nice to have)

- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and Git

- Comfortable working in Agile environments

Nice to Have :

- Experience in high-scale or product-driven environments

- Strong exposure to performance tuning and system optimization

- Knowledge of design patterns and domain-driven design (DDD)

- Domain experience in telecom, OTT, fintech, or large-scale platforms
