Overview :

We are looking for a trustworthy and proactive Java Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise and proven leadership capabilities to lead high-performing engineering teams.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Java-based enterprise application development, team management, Agile delivery, and product engineering.

As a Java Engineering Manager, you will manage multiple projects and agile teams, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-quality enterprise solutions.

You will play a key role in defining engineering strategy, mentoring teams, and ensuring successful execution of product roadmaps.

The role demands strong people management skills, hands-on technical capabilities, and the ability to balance engineering leadership with delivery responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage multiple Agile engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale Java applications.

- Drive architecture, design, and development of scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.

- Own and execute the engineering roadmap for new features and platform enhancements.

- Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery.

- Provide technical leadership through hands-on design reviews, coding guidance, and architecture discussions.

- Mentor engineers and technical leads by providing coaching, feedback, and career development opportunities.

- Manage resource allocation, sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery timelines across projects.

- Review technical requirements, design documents, and test strategies to ensure engineering quality standards.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and product quality.

- Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.

- Facilitate transparent communication of project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and leadership teams.

- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and talent retention initiatives.

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within teams.

- Work closely with global teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.

- Drive quality engineering practices and improve team productivity through Agile methodologies and automation.

Required Skills:

- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST API Development.

- Experience in Enterprise Solution Design and distributed system architecture.

- Hands-on experience in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

- Good understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.

- Strong project management and people management skills.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Ability to guide teams technically while driving execution and delivery.

Qualifications:

- BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 10 to 15 years of experience in software engineering with strong expertise in Java technologies.

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Engineering Management or Technical Leadership roles.

- Proven experience managing enterprise application development teams and complex technical programs.
