Java Developer - Backend Focus

Role Overview :

The Java Developer is a dedicated backend engineering role requiring 3+ Years of experience with mandatory strong backend and API development expertise using Spring Boot.

Located in Bangalore, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, focusing on high performance, scalability, and reliability.

A critical requirement for this role is the ability to work in a 3rd-shift support model with mandatory weekend availability for production support activities.

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer (3+ years) with mandatory strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for developing robust, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will work extensively on microservices-based architectures, perform debugging and performance optimization, and ensure high code quality. A key requirement is the ability to work a non-standard schedule, providing 3rd-shift support (evening/night) and participating in weekend support activities for production systems and deployments.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

Backend Development and Architecture :

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java Spring Boot, ensuring adherence to REST principles, security standards, and optimal performance.

- Work extensively on microservices-based architectures to build highly modular, resilient, and independent services, creating cloud-ready applications.

- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of backend systems, utilizing tools for monitoring, log analysis, and profiling to resolve complex issues.

- Ensure high-quality code delivery by adhering to best practices, conducting peer code reviews, and maintaining proper documentation for design, APIs, and processes.

- Support production systems and deployments during evening/night shifts (3rd-shift support model), acting as the primary point of contact for critical issues during non-standard hours.

- Participate in weekend support activities as per business needs, ensuring system stability and continuity of service during critical operational windows.

Collaboration and SDLC :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA for test automation alignment, DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration, and product teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

Experience : 3+ Years Required.

Core Technology : Strong backend and API development expertise using Java Spring Boot.

Architecture : Experience with microservices-based architectures and developing cloud-ready applications.

Support Model : Mandatory ability to work in a 3rd-shift support model and provide weekend support activities.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

- Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
