Role: Java Developer

Principal Accountabilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.

- Implement business logic using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.

- Integrate applications with relational databases and optimize database queries for performance.

- Implement Redis for caching, session management, and performance optimization to improve application response times.

- Develop secure applications using Spring Security and industry-standard authentication and authorization mechanisms.

- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code while adhering to coding standards and design principles.

- Perform unit and integration testing using sonarQube and snyk to ensure code quality and reliability.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

- Manage source code using Github, following branching and version control best practices.

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

- Support application deployment and collaborate with DevOps teams for containerized deployments and release management.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with security, quality, and architectural standards.

- Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and Product Owners throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

- Monitor application performance, analyze logs, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, deployment procedures, and design documents.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Core Java & OOP: Strong expertise in Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Collections Framework, Multithreading, Concurrency, Exception Handling, Streams API, and JVM performance tuning.

- Spring Ecosystem: Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate for developing scalable enterprise applications.

- Microservices Architecture: Design and implement loosely coupled, independently deployable microservices using REST APIs, service discovery, API Gateway, centralized configuration, and fault-tolerant communication patterns.

- REST API Development: Build secure, versioned, and well-documented RESTful APIs with proper validation, exception handling, pagination, and API documentation.

- Redis & Caching: Implement high-performance caching solutions using Redis for application caching, distributed session management, rate limiting, and improving overall system responsiveness.

- Database Design & Optimization: Strong experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, transactions, and performance tuning.

- CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, containerization, and deployment.

- Version Control & Branching Strategy: Advanced proficiency with Github, including Git Flow, feature branching, pull requests, code reviews, conflict resolution, and release management.

- Testing & Code Quality: Strong knowledge of unit, integration, and API testing using postman and Spring Boot Test with experience using SonarQube to enforce code quality and security standards.

- Security Implementation: Implement enterprise-grade security using Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, role-based access control (RBAC), secure coding practices, and data encryption.

- Performance & Monitoring: Experience monitoring and optimizing applications using ELK Stack, including JVM monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.

- Cloud & DevOps Practices: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP services, Infrastructure as Code concepts, container registries, and cloud-native application deployment.
