Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and modern AI technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing scalable backend applications, developing event-driven microservices, integrating AI/LLM capabilities, and building high-performance distributed systems.

The role involves developing robust backend services, implementing messaging-based architectures, optimizing database performance, and integrating Generative AI solutions into enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise-grade applications.

- Build event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.

- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

- Integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into backend applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).

- Develop AI-powered features such as intelligent search, summarization, chatbot integrations, recommendation systems, and workflow automation.

- Work with OpenAI or similar LLM APIs to build AI-enabled applications.

- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows where applicable.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders.

- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.

- Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release activities.

Required Skills :

- 3 to 8 years of experience in Java backend development.

- Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17.

- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.

- Strong experience with Apache Kafka for event streaming and messaging.

- Experience with PostgreSQL database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Expertise in developing REST APIs and Microservices.

- Good understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous processing.

- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience working on Linux environments.

AI / Generative AI Skills :

Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following :

- Generative AI (GenAI)

- Large Language Models (LLMs)

- OpenAI APIs or equivalent AI platforms

- Prompt Engineering

- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

- LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks

- AI Agent development

- Vector Databases (Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, Weaviate, or similar)

- AI-assisted application development and automation

Preferred Skills :

- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Kubernetes and container orchestration.

- Redis or distributed caching technologies.

- Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

- GraphQL.

- Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.

- Experience with secure coding practices and application performance optimization.

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
