Role Overview :

We are looking for a Head of IT / IT Infrastructure & Operations leader with 15 to 19 years of experience to own enterprise IT infrastructure, service operations, security readiness, business continuity, and technology operations across a distributed network of dark stores and distribution centres. The role requires strong leadership, infrastructure architecture, operational excellence, vendor management, and the ability to build scalable IT operations for rapid business expansion.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and execute the IT infrastructure and operations strategy aligned with business growth and expansion plans.

- Build a scalable and resilient infrastructure estate across offices, dark stores, distribution centres, and data centres.

- Define standards for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN/MPLS, bandwidth, redundancy, and network availability based on site criticality.

- Own data-centre operations, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.

- Establish monitoring, alerting, automation, and auto-remediation capabilities to improve reliability and operational efficiency.

- Develop standardized IT deployment blueprints, BOMs, provisioning processes, and go-live SLAs for new sites.

- Drive zero-touch/low-touch provisioning and remote diagnostics to enable faster and repeatable site deployments.

- Lead NOC, Service Desk, and regional field IT teams, establishing clear SLAs, escalation mechanisms, and service governance.

- Drive problem management, root-cause analysis, automation, and continuous improvement to reduce recurring incidents.

- Lead high-severity incident management and ensure timely communication, recovery, and closure.

- Partner with the CISO on endpoint security, network segmentation, firewalls, identity and access management, and other infrastructure security initiatives.

- Own infrastructure readiness and remediation of findings related to ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and applicable data protection requirements.

- Establish IT policies, operating standards, asset management processes, and technology lifecycle governance.

- Own infrastructure CAPEX and OPEX across connectivity, devices, hosting, licenses, and support services.

- Manage and negotiate with telecom/ISP providers, hardware OEMs, system integrators, and AMC partners across India.

- Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining or improving reliability, availability, and service quality.

- Build and develop a distributed IT organization with strong regional ownership and clearly defined escalation paths.

- Hire, mentor, and develop IT leaders and build a high-performing operations team.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 15 to 19 years of experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, technology services, or enterprise IT leadership.

- Strong experience managing large-scale distributed infrastructure and multi-site IT operations.

- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN/MPLS, firewalls, and connectivity management.

- Experience with data-centre operations, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity.

- Strong understanding of IT service management, NOC/Service Desk operations, incident and problem management.

- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, automation, remote management, and operational tooling.

- Strong exposure to IT security, compliance, IAM, network segmentation, and infrastructure governance.

- Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, SLAs, and infrastructure budgets.

- Proven ability to build and lead large, distributed IT teams.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including handling critical business incidents.

- Experience in retail, e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, quick commerce, or other high-volume distributed operations would be highly relevant.
