This is a Senior Support Engineertype role requiring strong expertise in Apigee Hybrid, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and managing systems deployed on Kubernetes-based environments (AKS, OpenShift).

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in supporting and troubleshooting complex API management and middleware systems, ensuring high availability, and mentoring junior team members.

Primary Responsibility & Key Functions :

Apigee Hybrid and Middleware Support (Must-Have) :

- Provide expert, hands-on L2/L3 support and troubleshooting for complex Apigee Hybrid deployments. (Note : Experience with Apigee Hybrid is essential as it specifically runs on Kubernetes).

- Serve as the primary point of escalation for middleware support related to the API management platform, ensuring system stability and performance.

- Maintain and support the health of the entire application/platform, actively addressing issues related to the API management ecosystem.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Practices :

- Implement and execute SRE-related tasks focusing on high availability, low latency, and efficient change management.

- Conduct proactive monitoring of application/platform health (e.g., verifying pod status, resource utilization) using industry-standard tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana.

- Perform complex L2/L3 troubleshooting and incident resolution, quickly diagnosing and fixing critical production issues to minimize downtime.

Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps :

- Leverage a strong knowledge of Kubernetes and its underlying principles, specifically within cloud environments like AKS or OpenShift.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DevOps pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.

- Apply a thorough understanding of API security protocols (OAuth2, mTLS, and JWT) and fundamental networking principles to secure and optimize the platform.

Leadership and Mentoring :

- Provide direct mentoring experience and technical guidance to junior team members, raising the overall technical capability of the support team.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-Have) :

- Core API Platform : Hands-on experience and expertise in Apigee Hybrid (experience with Apigee Edge alone is insufficient).

- SRE Practices : Expertise in SRE support, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices.

- Containerization : Strong working Knowledge of Kubernetes (e.g., AKS, OpenShift) and understanding of its underlying principles.

- Support : Direct experience in Middleware support and supporting complex API management platforms.

- Security : Understanding of API security protocols (OAuth2, mTLS, JWT) and fundamental networking concepts.

- Process : Experience in troubleshooting DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

- Mentoring : Proven Mentoring experience with junior staff.
