Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Azure Migration Engineer to support and execute end-to-end cloud migration and modernization initiatives across on-premises, multi-cloud, and Azure environments. The role will be responsible for assessing workloads, preparing migration plans, executing migrations, configuring Azure infrastructure, troubleshooting migration issues, and supporting post-migration stabilization and optimization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Execute end-to-end migration activities for servers, applications, infrastructure services, and workloads from on-premises environments to Azure.

- Support migration of Windows and Linux servers to Azure Virtual Machines and appropriate Azure PaaS services.

- Perform workload discovery, dependency assessment, readiness analysis, sizing, and migration planning using Azure Migrate.

- Configure and manage Azure resources including Virtual Machines, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Azure Firewall, storage accounts, managed disks, and Azure Files/Blob Storage.

- Implement and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity using ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, routing, DNS, and related Azure networking services.

- Support migration of infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file shares, and other enterprise workloads.

- Execute workload migrations from AWS/GCP to Azure where required, with an understanding of equivalent cloud services and migration approaches.

- Support Azure-to-Azure migrations across subscriptions, regions, and tenants, including resource relocation and configuration changes.

- Use Azure Site Recovery, Azure Migrate, AzCopy, Azure Storage Explorer, and other appropriate tools for workload and data migration.

- Support application modernization and migration to Azure services such as App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, and Service Bus.

- Support database migration activities using Azure Database Migration Service, SQL Migration tools, and other migration approaches.

- Support containerized workload migration and deployment on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including networking, storage, scaling, and monitoring.

- Support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) migration and deployment, including host pools, session hosts, FSLogix, networking, and identity integration.

- Automate Azure infrastructure provisioning and migration activities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

- Support CI/CD implementation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.

- Perform migration validation, application connectivity checks, performance testing, cutover activities, rollback procedures, and post-migration stabilization.

- Troubleshoot complex issues related to Azure infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, identity, application dependencies, and migration failures.

- Monitor migrated workloads and support post-migration optimization for performance, availability, security, and Azure consumption costs.

- Prepare migration documentation including migration plans, implementation procedures, runbooks, dependency mappings, test results, and operational handover documents.

- Work closely with cloud architects, application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and client stakeholders to ensure successful migration delivery.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 - 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, system administration, or cloud migration, with significant hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure.

- Strong hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and cloud migration projects.

- Experience using Azure Migrate for discovery, assessment, dependency analysis, sizing, and server migration.

- Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, storage accounts, managed disks, Blob Storage, and Azure Files.

- Good understanding of Azure networking, including ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity.

- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux server administration and migration.

- Experience with Azure Site Recovery and other migration/data-transfer tools such as AzCopy and Azure Storage Explorer.

- Hands-on experience with PowerShell and/or Azure CLI for Azure administration and automation.

- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

- Good understanding of Azure identity and access management, including Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and enterprise security fundamentals.

- Experience with Azure monitoring and operational tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

- Good understanding of cloud migration methodologies including rehost, replatform, and refactor.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently on migration activities and collaborate effectively with distributed technical teams.

Good to Have :

- Experience with AKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized workload migration.

- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, VMware Horizon, or other VDI technologies.

- Experience with database migration, particularly SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.

- Experience with Azure PaaS services including App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, and Service Bus.

- Exposure to AWS or GCP and cross-cloud migration projects.

- Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of Azure Landing Zones, Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, governance, and cost optimization.

- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent.
