Informix Support Engineer

Primary Responsibilities :

- Provide technical support for applications built on the Informix database platform.

- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to Informix, Embedded C, ISAM, ESQL, and C programming.

- Perform system monitoring, health checks, and performance tuning.

- Manage application deployments and updates.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

- Support and maintain Informix database environments.

- Monitor database performance and identify potential issues.

- Perform database backups and restores.

- Optimize database queries and performance.

- Manage database security and access controls.

- Develop and maintain Embedded C and C programs for application functionality.

- Debug and troubleshoot Embedded C and C code.

- Optimize code for performance and efficiency.

- Develop and maintain applications using ISAM and ESQL.

- Troubleshoot and resolve ISAM and ESQL related issues.

- Optimize ISAM and ESQL queries and performance.

- Develop and maintain AWK scripts for data processing and automation.

- Utilize AWK scripts for log analysis and reporting.

- Automate system administration tasks using AWK scripts.

- Manage and track support tickets and issues using a ticketing system.

- Document solutions, best practices, and knowledge base articles.

- Provide training and support to end-users.

- Work closely with development teams, database administrators, and end-users.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Participate in team meetings and knowledge sharing sessions.

Required Skills and Experience :

- 5-12 years of experience as an Application Support Engineer with a focus on Informix.

- Strong knowledge of Informix database administration and development.

- Proficiency in Embedded C and C programming.

- Hands-on experience with ISAM and ESQL.

- Experience with AWK scripting for data processing and automation.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with application deployment and maintenance.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
