Icertis - Development Manager - .Net

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager / Technical Lead .NET who can provide strong technical leadership while owning delivery, people management, and engineering excellence for a high-performing development team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong hands-on background in the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, proven experience managing a team of approximately 1015 engineers, and a track record of successfully delivering enterprise-scale software products in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of approximately 10 to 15 software engineers and technical professionals.

- Build a high-performing, collaborative, and accountable engineering culture.

- Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide continuous feedback, and support career development and growth plans.

- Identify skill gaps within the team and drive appropriate training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and talent development activities.

- Encourage engineering best practices, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Create a culture of collaboration, transparency, inclusivity, and technical excellence.

Technical Leadership :

- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications.

- Leverage strong expertise in Microsoft .NET and related technologies to guide technical decisions and implementation.

- Review solution designs, technical approaches, code quality, and engineering practices.

- Drive adoption of scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance application architectures.

- Participate in architecture and design discussions and provide recommendations based on business and technical requirements.

- Identify and address technical debt, scalability challenges, performance bottlenecks, and reliability concerns.

- Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding guidelines, design patterns, and development best practices.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands-on guidance to engineers when required.

- Promote automation across development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational processes.

Delivery & Project Management :

- Own end-to-end delivery from people, project, and technology perspectives.

- Partner with Product Management, Engineering, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

- Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans and delivery milestones.

- Drive sprint planning, estimation, prioritization, execution, and release planning.

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with the expected quality standards.

- Track project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation plans.

- Proactively identify delivery challenges and take corrective actions.

- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and key decisions effectively to senior leadership and stakeholders.

- Balance short-term delivery priorities with long-term technical and architectural goals.

- Ensure appropriate capacity planning and resource allocation across projects and initiatives.

Must-Have Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and modern software development practices.

- Strong experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.

- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code practices.

- Experience with REST APIs, web services, microservices, and service-oriented architectures.

- Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.

- Experience with application performance, scalability, troubleshooting, and production support.

- Experience working with modern software development tools, source control, CI/CD, and automated testing practices.

- Proven experience managing and mentoring a 1015 member engineering team.

- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Demonstrated experience owning software delivery from planning through production release.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

- Experience with cloud-native application development and distributed systems.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

- Experience with messaging/event-driven technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or similar platforms.

- Experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or equivalent.

- Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and application performance management.

- Knowledge of secure software development practices and enterprise application security.

- Experience working on SaaS products or large-scale enterprise platforms.

- Experience with AI/ML-enabled applications or intelligent automation is a plus.

- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams is preferred.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Minimum requirement of 16 years of regular/full-time education.

- Significant professional experience in software engineering, with substantial experience in .NET technologies.

- Proven experience in technical leadership and people management.

- Experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise-scale products.
