Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced HIL Test Engineer with 610 years of proven experience in the Automotive/Transportation domain, specializing in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing platforms, specifically dSPACE.

This critical role requires deep expertise in system integration and qualification testing across complex domains like Body, Powertrain, and ADAS. The engineer will leverage strong scripting skills in CAPL and Python to develop and execute automated test cases, ensuring compliance with rigorous automotive standards like ASPICE and Functional Safety.

Job Description :

HIL System Setup and Test Automation :

- Function as a subject matter expert in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments, with mandatory expertise in configuring and operating dSPACE HILS solutions.

- Develop, optimize, and maintain automated test scripts for component and system-level validation using CAPL and Python, maximizing test coverage and execution efficiency.

- Design and implement comprehensive System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Qualification Testing (SQT) procedures for Automotive ECUs.

- Configure and troubleshoot interfaces for various vehicle networks and diagnostic protocols, including CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services), OBD (On-Board

Diagnostics), and Network Management (NM).

Automotive Domain Expertise and Standards :

- Apply deep domain knowledge in critical automotive systems, preferably including Body

Control Modules, Powertrain control, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

- Ensure all testing methodologies and deliverables comply with automotive quality management standards, specifically ASPICE (Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination).

- Implement verification and validation activities necessary to meet Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements for the tested systems.

- Analyze test results, generate comprehensive reports, and drive resolution of identified

defects in collaboration with software development and requirements teams.

Team Collaboration and Quality Assurance :

- Utilize excellent communication and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and contribute actively to knowledge sharing across the testing team.

- Participate in technical reviews of system requirements, design specifications, and test plans to ensure testability and quality from the initial phase of development.

- Maintain version control and documentation for all test environments, scripts, and results according to organizational processes.

Required Skills & Expertise :

- HIL Platforms : Mandatory expertise in HILS systems, specifically dSPACE configuration and operation.

- Scripting : Expert-level proficiency in CAPL and Python for test automation development.

- Automotive Domain : Proven experience (6-10 years) in the Automotive/Transportation sector, preferably with Body, Powertrain, and/or ADAS systems.

- Protocols : Deep working knowledge of automotive communication and diagnostic protocols : CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, OBD, and Network Management (NM).

- Testing : Expertise in planning and executing System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Qualification Testing (SQT).

- Standards : Practical experience applying quality management practices, ASPICE, and Functional safety principles to the testing lifecycle.

- Soft Skills : Very good communication and mentoring skills for technical leadership and team development.
