The Role :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to own and evolve our AI-powered product engineering. At HealthPlix, AI is not a feature we are adding - it is the product. Our EMR already uses ML to drive prescriptions, clinical decisions, and patient insights at scale.

Your role is to take this further: integrating state-of-the-art LLMs, building ambient AI capabilities (voice, auto-documentation, real-time clinical summaries), and deploying these across millions of patient touchpoints.

We are seeking leaders who thrive in ambiguity, obsess over product impact, and know how to architect AI systems that are both scientifically rigorous and production-grade.

Requirements :

- Experience : 10+ years of software engineering and product delivery experience, with absolute command over Data Structures & Algorithms.

- AI/ML Expertise : Deep, hands-on experience building AI-first products that are live in production. Proven track record of integrating LLMs into real user-facing features - not just prototypes. Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning workflows, and evaluation frameworks for AI outputs.

Infrastructure & Inferencing :

- Strong understanding of MLOps, model deployment, and LLM inferencing optimization.

- Experience with high-speed inference infrastructure (e.g. Cerebras, Groq) and cost-performance trade-offs in running models at scale in a production healthcare environment.

Systems Architecture :

- Hands on experience building highly scalable, distributed systems and microservices architectures.

- High proficiency in high-throughput, low-latency system design.

- Languages : Exceptional coding skills, strongly preferring Python or GoLang.

- Databases : Deep understanding of relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL/Redshift.

- Engineering Standards : Ability to write clean, modular, and extensively unit-testable code.

Responsibilities :

- Team Leadership : Manage and scale a high-performing team of 10+ engineers. Actively define team structure and drive the hiring process.

- AI & Product Strategy : Own the AI product roadmap alongside product leadership - from ideation to deployment. Define what AI features get built into our EMR, prioritize ruthlessly based on clinical and business impact, and ensure our AI capabilities stay ahead of the curve. Translate complex model behavior into clear product decisions.

- Performance Management : Own career development, continuous feedback, and performance appraisals. Conduct regular 1:1s, set clear expectations aligned with organizational goals, and execute demonstrable Individual Development Plans.

- Execution & Communication : Act as the technical bridge for stakeholders. Maintain rigorous communication regarding project status, architectural milestones, compliance, risks, and dependencies.
