Head of Technology - eCommerce Platform

Description :

Experience & Skills required :

- Strong experience (10+ years) in a senior tech leadership role, ideally in a B2C e-commerce environment.

- Strong technical skills in both Android and iOS development

- Proven track record of establishing and leading technology in a fast-growing e-commerce, DTC, or digital product company.

Strong technical background with knowledge in :

- Web technologies (e.g., React, Node. js, Shopify, Magento, or custom stacks); Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP); DevOps

- Knowledge of SEO, web performance optimization

- Experience with mobile development best practices. Familiarity with mobile security principles and best practices.

- Strong business acumen and ability to align tech with commercial objectives.

- Should have worked on AI technology in projects.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Project management experience:

- Experience managing development projects from start to finish.

- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.

Qualification :

- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.

Roles & Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

- CTO will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of all technical initiatives.

- Will lead the development, product, and IT teams to support a seamless, secure, and scalable e-commerce platform, ensuring alignment with business goals.

- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to improve development efficiency and application performance.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology, especially within the e-commerce sector.

- Overseeing the technology infrastructure that supports the e-commerce website, mobile app, and other online channels.

Project Management :

- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of the e-commerce platform s (web & mobile). Ensure the architecture is scalable, secure, and high-performing.

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation.

- Manage project risks and dependencies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues.

- Track project progress, report on key metrics, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

- Optimize site speed, uptime, and overall customer experience.

E-commerce Expertise :

- Understand the unique challenges and opportunities of the retail e-commerce industry.

- Develop business applications that enhance the customer experience, drive sales, and improve operational efficiency.

- Integrate applications with e-commerce platforms and third-party services, such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and analytics tools.

Quality Assurance :

- Ensure applications are thoroughly tested, both manually and through automated testing frameworks.

- Collaborate and execute test plans, ensuring high-quality releases.

- Monitor application performance and stability, proactively addressing any issues or bugs.

Security & Compliance :

- Ensure data security, IT compliance, and adherence to privacy regulations

- Develop risk mitigation and disaster recovery strategies.

- Communication and Collaboration:

- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and progress.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with other systems.
