- Act as business owner of ERP and enterprise applications (Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, Sales, HR).
- Lead ERP selection, rollout, stabilization, upgrades, and rationalization (with vendors).
- Ensure ERP is used for process discipline, not just accounting.
3. Vendor & Partner Management :
- Own relationships with:
- ERP/System Integrators
- IT Infrastructure & Cloud vendors
- Cybersecurity, networking, and application partners
- Define SLAs, KPIs, governance cadence, escalation mechanisms.
- Prevent vendor-led chaos; ensure architecture and data integrity.
4. IT Infrastructure & Security Governance :
- Oversee infrastructure strategy (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
- Ensure baseline cybersecurity, backup, DR, and access controls are in place.
- Translate cyber risks into business language for promoters and leadership.
5. Business Enablement & Adoption :
- Work closely with business heads to:
- Simplify processes before automation
- Improve adoption of systems on the shopfloor and branches
- Drive training, change management, and usage discipline.
6. Data, Reporting & Decision Support :
- Establish single source of truth for core metrics (finance, inventory, sales, production).
- Enable basic MIS dashboards before advanced analytics.
- Reduce dependency on Excel and manual reconciliations.
7. Team & Governance :
- Build a lean internal IT governance team (functional owners, analysts).
- Coach junior managers and ground-level IT coordinators.
- Set up IT steering committee, project governance, and review forums.
Ideal Background & Profile :
Experience :
- 15-25 years in IT / Digital / ERP leadership roles
- Prior experience in Indian business groups, manufacturing, or trading companies
- Hands-on experience managing large ERP programs (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Dynamics, etc.)
- Strong vendor-management exposure
Mindset & Skills :
- Pragmatic, structured, and patient
- Comfortable working with low digital maturity teams
- Strong communicator with promoters and non-tech leaders
- Ability to say "no" to unnecessary technology
- Change leader, not a technologist for technology's sake
