Your requirements :

- Collaborate with the engineering & machine learning teams towards building a robust data engineering practice to improve the overall operational efficiency

- Design, architect and evolve multiple data systems and provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to your team

- Work closely with internal teams using your platform and help them deploy their services on the Cloud using data orchestration systems

- Work on large-scale systems with high-throughput & low-latency requirements & optimization of compute intensive batch systems

- Be a hands-on leader in production, minimizing downtimes, optimizing for costs and setting up 360-degree observability for site reliability teams

- Engage with external and internal technical teams when necessary and manage the relationship

- Hire, build and nurture a team of highly skilled engineers to drive the strategic & technical roadmaps for the data platform

- Enhance the following practices within the organization:

1. Adopting good design principles of data lake & data pipelines

2. Permeating ideal usage of data warehouses & databases

3. Scaling machine learning based applications & workflows in the cloud

You would have :

- 12+ years of experience working with data-centric technologies, leading skillful software & data engineering teams

- Extensive experience on research-driven architecture design of large scale data platforms. Prior exposure to designing relevant data models dealing with high data velocity and/or volume while ensuring integrity

- Experience working with or building OLAP/OLTP systems, pipeline orchestration systems, search engines, distributed systems, real-time & batch pipelines built for scale, noSQL document stores

- Experience performance tuning for the various data engineering systems

- Ability to generalize or abstract workflows to larger frameworks to enable scalability

- Strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects

- Have high proficiency in SQL

- Familiarity with analytics & machine learning techniques

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working with scalable B2B SaaS products

- Experience leading teams that work with Databases (SQL/noSQL), and Machine Learning systems

- Experience working with multiple cloud providers like AWS, Azure and GCP

- Educational background in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related fields
