Software Development Engineer 2 - Backend

Job Description :

Must-Have Skills :

- 3 - 6 years of software engineering experience, preferably building production backend systems.

- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade Python applications.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and backend microservices.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, asynchronous programming, and scalable architectures.

- Experience working with databases such as MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies.

- Good understanding of Docker, CI/CD, Linux, and cloud environments.

- Experience integrating with LLM/GenAI APIs and building AI-powered applications.

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.

- Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals including testing, observability, logging, monitoring, and code quality.

Strongly Preferred :

- Hands-on experience building Voice AI / Conversational AI systems.

- Experience working with STT, TTS, LLM, VAD, voice streaming, or real-time audio pipelines.

- Experience with frameworks/platforms such as Pipecat, LiveKit, WebRTC, or similar real-time AI frameworks.

- Experience with telephony/SIP/WebSocket-based systems.

- Experience building AI agents, agentic workflows, tool calling, function calling, or multi-agent systems.

- Experience with streaming APIs and real-time systems.

- Experience optimizing latency, throughput, concurrency, and reliability of AI/voice applications.

- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, Prometheus, or Grafana.

- Experience deploying AI applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
