Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform, cloud-native application development and application modernisation. The ideal candidate should have experience designing, deploying and managing scalable cloud solutions on GCP, along with exposure to Azure - to - GCP migration, DevOps, Kubernetes and cloud security.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop and deploy cloud-native applications and services on GCP.

- Work extensively with GCP services including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, GCS, Secret Manager, API Gateway and BigQuery.

- Build and manage event-driven solutions using Pub/Sub, Eventarc, Cloud Scheduler and Cloud Workflows.

- Develop and integrate REST APIs and microservices using cloud-native architectures.

- Support application modernisation initiatives and migration of workloads from Azure to GCP.

- Containerise applications using Docker and deploy/manage workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy.

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

- Configure and manage GCP IAM, Service Accounts and access controls.

- Implement secure authentication and authorisation using OAuth2, OIDC and SSO.

- Work with development and architecture teams to design scalable, reliable and secure cloud solutions.

- Implement monitoring, logging and observability across GCP workloads.

- Support troubleshooting, performance optimisation and resolution of cloud infrastructure and application issues.

- Evaluate and implement appropriate GCP services based on application and business requirements.

- Collaborate with stakeholders, architects and engineering teams throughout application modernisation and migration projects.

- Explore Vertex AI and Vertex AI Search for AI-enabled cloud solutions where applicable.

- Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/GKE.

- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

- Strong knowledge of GCP IAM, Service Accounts and cloud security.

- Understanding of OAuth2, OIDC and SSO.

- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging and observability.

Application Modernisation & Migration :

- Experience modernising legacy applications for GCP cloud-native environments.

- Hands-on exposure to Azure - to - GCP migration projects.

- Ability to assess existing application architecture and identify suitable GCP services.

- Experience migrating applications, APIs, databases and supporting services to GCP.

- Understanding of migration considerations around security, networking, scalability and performance.

AI / Advanced GCP Capabilities :

- Exposure to Vertex AI and Vertex AI Search.

- Understanding of integrating AI capabilities into cloud-native applications.

- Experience with AI-enabled or GenAI solutions on GCP is an added advantage.

Good to Have :

- Experience with GCP networking concepts such as VPC, load balancing and private connectivity.

- Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect / Professional Cloud Developer / Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.

- Experience with automated infrastructure provisioning and deployment.

- Knowledge of cloud cost optimisation and reliability best practices.

- Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud transformation programmes.
