Role : Functional Safety Engineer

Location : Baner, Pune

Experience : 8 to 11 years

Qualification : BE/B.TEC, Masters in CS, EC,ENTC

Roles & Responsibilities :

- ISO 26262 - Safety Analysis - ECU Development - HW/SW Architecture

- ISO 26262 & Safety Lifecycle

- ISO 26262 Level 1 certified; full lifecycle experience from concept phase to SOP.

- Development of Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), Technical Safety Concepts (TSC), ASIL decomposition, safety goals.

Safety Analysis & Requirements Engineering :

- FMEDA, FMEA, DFA, FTA; diagnostic coverage and PMHF calculations.

- Controller safety manual analysis (Aurix, MicroSoar, TLF).

- Safety requirements engineering and allocation to HW & SW.

- Item Definition & HARA experience .

ECU Hardware & Software Expertise :

- Strong ECU HW understanding : circuits, HSI, FIT rates, FTTI, fault latency.

- Knowledge of SW development lifecycle and safety driven architecture design.

- Deriving and defining HW/SW safety mechanisms.

Safety Mechanisms & Fault Analysis :

- Latent, single point, and dual point fault analysis.

- Experience with watchdogs, lockstep cores, BIST, ECC, CRC, timing supervision, plausibility checks.

- Development of diagnostic concepts for MCUs and PMICs.

Verification, Validation & Testing :

- Support Safety verification & validation planning, fault injection testing, and safety mechanism testing.

- Support for system integration, bring up, and debug activities.

Audit, Assessment & Conformance :

- Support with confirmation reviews, safety audits, and independent safety assessments.

- Preparation of compliance documentation and assessor packages.

Cross Functional Collaboration :

- Working with system, hardware, software, quality teams and OEM stakeholders.

- Leading safety reviews, workshops, and technical discussions.

Good to have :

- ISO26262 Level 2 Certificate

- Experience in safety case & ASIL decomposition

- Ability to work on end-to-end system architecture

- Experience with Jira

- Basic Python / automation of safety workflows

- Strong in interface & interoperability analysis

- Drives safety topics across teams (HW/SW/System)

- Strong stakeholder management & decision-making

- Proactive in closing gaps & improving processes

- Flexible for international travel (e.g, 3 months)
