Job Description :

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Backend-focused) with strong experience in Azure-native backend development and system integrations. The role involves building scalable APIs, cloud-native services, and secure integrations while working closely with Data Engineering and Platform teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Backend & API Development (Azure-First) :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and container-based Azure services.

- Implement secure, resilient integrations using Azure API Management, including routing, policies, authentication, and throttling.

- Build robust error handling, logging, and observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.

- Ensure services comply with enterprise standards for security, scalability, and cloud-native architecture.

Integration & Data Flow Engineering :

- Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and implement data-driven API integrations, including payload definitions, mappings, and behavior.

- Integrate internal and external systems using Azure Managed Identity and Azure AD.

- Develop asynchronous and event-driven integrations using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, or similar services.

- Validate end-to-end data flows to ensure correct processing, transformation, and persistence.

Collaboration with Data Engineering :

- Translate data mapping and integration specifications into backend and API logic.

- Maintain clear separation between API and data layers following Azure design patterns.

- Support data pipeline testing through API mocks, triggers, and backend interfaces.

Cloud, DevOps & Deployment :

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

- Support Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.

- Deploy and manage services across Azure components including :

1. Azure App Service

2. Azure Functions

3. Azure API Management

4. Azure Key Vault

5. Azure Storage / ADLS

6. Azure Monitor & Application Insights

- Troubleshoot production issues using Azure-native diagnostics and monitoring tools.

Monitoring, Reliability & Operations :

- Implement health checks, telemetry, and dashboards using Application Insights, Azure Dashboards, and Log Analytics Workbooks.

- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as performance, resilience, security, and auditability.

Engineering Quality & Delivery :

- Write clean, secure, and maintainable code following best engineering practices.

- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews.

- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and operations teams to refine requirements and improve platform design.

Skills & Experience :

Essential Skills :

- Strong backend development experience with C# .NET, Node.js, or similar technologies.

- Proven experience building REST APIs using Azure App Service or Azure Functions.

- Hands-on experience with Azure API Management (policies, routing, authentication).

- Strong understanding of Azure Identity & Security (Managed Identity, Azure AD).

- Experience with SQL and relational databases, including Azure SQL.

- Solid knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Azure DevOps.

- Hands-on experience with Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Desirable Skills :

- Experience with Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, or Event Hub.

- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Bicep, Terraform, ARM).

- Familiarity with React or similar front-end frameworks for internal dashboards or tools.

- Experience building operational dashboards or service health interfaces.

- Background in financial services, fraud, AML, or financial crime platforms.
