About FuelBuddy :

FuelBuddy is a B2B fuel delivery company scaling automated fuel logistics across the UAE, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria. We run a large automated bowser fleet that delivers fuel directly to enterprise customers across logistics, retail, construction, and industrial sectors, replacing the traditional petrol-station model with an on-demand, IoT-driven alternative that is measurably faster, safer, and more accountable for the businesses that depend on it.

Our international tech team is building the software platform that powers this operation end-to-end - from the CRM and ERP that handle sales and finance, to the dispatch engine that plans daily deliveries, to the IoT automation running on the bowsers themselves, to the customer and operations dashboards that enterprises and our own teams use every day. The international stack is built on Vue 3, Node.js/Fastify, PostgreSQL, Hasura GraphQL, ERPNext (Frappe), and GCP, with BigQuery powering cross-market analytics across all five countries.

You will build the reporting layer that tells the business what is actually happening. Every dashboard you ship changes how leadership and operations teams make decisions about fuel, trucks, credit, and customers.

Role summary :

You will be the founding member of FuelBuddy's Data pod - this is a build-from-zero role. Today, our reporting is fragmented across BigQuery raw tables, ERPNext transactional reports, and manual Excel consolidation. You will design and deliver the first unified reporting layer across five countries, directly supporting FY27 Priority #3 : Reporting & Visibility. Within the year, you will hire and mentor a junior analyst.

What will you own :

The end-to-end analytics stack for international operations : data modelling in BigQuery, the cross-market reporting framework, executive dashboards, operational dashboards for dispatch and finance, credit risk monitoring, revenue leakage detection, and ad-hoc analysis for the leadership team. You will work with the Backend and ERP pods to close data-quality gaps at source rather than patching them downstream.

Must-have skills :

- Advanced SQL - window functions, CTEs, query optimisation

- Production experience with BigQuery or an equivalent cloud warehouse (Snowflake, Redshift)

- dbt - hands-on production experience building and maintaining models, tests, and documentation

- Strong dashboarding skills with Looker Studio, Metabase, or Power BI

- Solid data modelling fundamentals - star schemas, slowly changing dimensions

- Ability to take a vague business question, turn it into a precise metric definition, and deliver a dashboard that the business actually uses

Good to have :

- Python for analytics (pandas, notebooks)

- Exposure to ERPNext or any ERP data model

- Experience building a reporting function from scratch

- Familiarity with logistics, fleet, or energy KPIs (litres dispensed, cost per litre, credit days outstanding, truck utilisation)

What success looks like in 12 months :

- A unified executive dashboard covers all five international markets, with credit risk and revenue leakage having dedicated monitoring with alerting. The leadership team has replaced manual Excel reports with live dashboards for at least five recurring reviews, and a junior analyst has been hired and onboarded.
