Description :

Our client is building a next-generation crypto market-making platform powering $2B+ in monthly trading volume. As a Founding Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and scaling mission-critical backend systems for ultra-low-latency trading, working closely with founders and shaping the core architecture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and optimize backend systems, APIs, and microservices for high-performance, low-latency trading environments

- Architect scalable and distributed systems handling high traffic and complex computations

- Collaborate with founders to define technical roadmap, architecture, and engineering standards

- Develop and integrate market-making engines, liquidity pipelines, and trading operations infrastructure

- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code

- Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve system performance, reliability, and security

- Ensure robustness, fault tolerance, and high availability across backend services

- Drive engineering execution, documentation, and best-practices adoption in a fast-paced startup setup

Skillset & Requirements :

- 3+ years of backend development experience in high-performance environments

- Hands-on experience with Python / Go / Node / Rust (any strong backend language accepted)

- Prior experience in crypto, trading systems, DeFi, market-making, or exchange infrastructure mandatory

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and real-time data processing

- Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and containerized deployments

- Deep knowledge of API design, caching, performance tuning, and database systems (SQL/NoSQL)

- Familiarity with messaging queues, event-driven architectures, and streaming frameworks

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, founder-led startup
