What Youll Do :

As a Backend Engineer, you'll work on the core systems that power our platform from APIs and background jobs to infrastructure and data models. Youll help build a solid foundation that enables fast product iteration and long-term scalability.

Youll work with Python (FastAPI), Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub), and PostgreSQL to architect and build backend systems that are clean, reliable, and secure.

In this role, you will :

- Design and implement scalable APIs and services using FastAPI.

- Build asynchronous background tasks using Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, and other GCP primitives.

- Model and manage data in PostgreSQL.

- Deploy and monitor services on Cloud Run and contribute to our CI/CD pipelines.

- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to shape and deliver new features.

- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning.

- Help evolve engineering best practices as the team grows.

What Were Looking For :

- 3+ years of professional experience in backend development.

- Strong experience with Python, especially frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.

- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and async programming.

- Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

- Familiarity with GCP services especially Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks, Pub/Sub, or equivalents.

- Comfortable designing and operating production systems (monitoring, logging, deployments).

- Clear communicator and thoughtful collaborator who values team success over ego.

Bonus Points :

- Experience with async task queues or distributed systems.

- Prior work in a product-focused or startup environment.

- Interest in system design and performance optimization.

- Experience working with message queues, event-driven systems, or external APIs.
