About Fedex India COE :

FedEx India COE was setup in 2014 to support global revenue management teams initially. Over the years, as the collaboration with various groups increased, the scope of role in the overall organization started evolving and have started engaging with other functions. From a team of around 30 strong commercial and data science analysts, they have now grown to an adept and diverse team of 350+ members and are still growing, continuing to evolve and learn day by day. FedEx India COE now provides analytics and data science expertise to teams across Global Revenue Management - Pricing, Commercial Insights & Forecasting, Marketing and Decision Science.

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our evolving Data Engineering team at FedEx. As part of our global analytics ecosystem, you will help design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, insights, and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

This role offers a balance between technical contribution and broader business engagement. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions, while also developing a strong understanding of FedExs commercial landscape and strategic goals.

What your main responsibilities are :

- Design Scalable Data Solutions : Contribute to the design of secure and scalable data engineering frameworks for analytics and BI.

- Build and Maintain Data Pipelines : Develop and maintain robust pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration across diverse systems.

- Leverage Azure Platform Tools : Utilize services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics to implement enterprise-grade data solutions.

- Support BI at Scale : Enable high-performance reporting and dashboarding by optimizing Synapse SQL Dedicated Pools and integrating with BI platforms like Power BI.

- Ensure Data Quality & Governance : Implement validation checks, lineage tracking, and quality monitoring to ensure data integrity and trust.

- Optimize for Scale and Efficiency : Tune data solutions for cost-effectiveness and performance in large-scale environments.

- Collaborate Across Functions : Work alongside Data Scientists, Analysts, Product Managers, and Business Leaders to align data work with business needs and strategy.

- Support Knowledge Sharing : Encourage best practices, continuous learning, and knowledge exchange within the team.

- Grow Commercial Acumen : Develop a strong understanding of FedExs business operations, goals, and customer value drivers.

What we are looking for :

Education & Experience :

- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 4- 6 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or related roles.

- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark/Spark SQL.

- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and BI-driven architecture.

- Ability to work with diverse data sources (APIs, flat files, Excel, PDFs, relational databases).

- Familiarity with DevOps, Git, and CI/CD for data workflows.

- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Interest in learning the business context behind the data and its strategic applications.

Skills & Competencies :

- Azure or Databricks certifications (e.g., DP-203, Databricks Certified Data Engineer).

- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or large enterprise operations.

- Exposure to BI/reporting tools like Power BI and large-scale data platforms.
