Job Description :
- Operate and maintain the existing Oracle and PostgreSQL databases (Central DB, NGC, GOSTAR) to ensure reliability, performance, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve production database issues quickly, providing strong operational support and incident response.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and database logic in PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL) used by production applications.
- Perform and automate data-validation and data-quality checks using scripting (e.g. , Python, SQL) to replace manual processes.
- Support the transition from Central DB (Oracle) to NGC (PostgreSQL), ensuring data integrity and smooth migration activities.
- Support database engineers working on the NGC database and stay aligned with data engineers building automated data delivery pipelines.
- Enforce best practices for schema evolution and change management to maintain cross-system stability and compatibility.
- Coordinate closely with the European engineering team to ensure alignment between existing systems and our next-generation platform.
- Maintain strong operational processes, including monitoring, alerting, runbooks, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement durable fixes to prevent recurring issues.

- Extensive experience operating production Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, troubleshooting, backup/restore, replication, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of relational database principles (ACID, normalization), indexing strategies, query optimization, and tuning in both PostgreSQL and Oracle environments.
- Hands-on experience performing data-validation and data-quality checks in production systems, with the ability to automate these processes using scripting (e.g. , Python, SQL).
- Proficiency with stored procedure development and maintenance in Oracle (PL/SQL) and PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL), including debugging, performance tuning, and safe deployment practices.
- Solid experience managing schema changes in live systems, ensuring backward compatibility and stable integration with related systems.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with database engineers, data engineers, software engineers, and cross-regional teams.
- Proven ability to lead operational processes such as incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, and continuous improvement of database reliability
