Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Oracle database administration, production support, automation, and NoSQL technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing large-scale, mission-critical database environments while ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and optimal system performance.

This role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle production environments, database automation using infrastructure-as-code tools, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, and Linux system administration. Exposure to modern NoSQL ecosystems and cloud-based database platforms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, administer, and support Oracle and NoSQL databases in enterprise production environments

- Manage database performance, availability, scalability, and security across mission-critical systems

- Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning, and optimization for high-volume transactional workloads

- Design and implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies

- Automate database provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks using Ansible and Terraform

- Manage and maintain database clusters, replication setups, and high-availability architectures

- Troubleshoot complex database, operating system, and network-related issues

- Collaborate closely with DevOps, infrastructure, application, and cloud engineering teams

- Implement operational best practices, compliance standards, and security controls

- Support on-call production environments and critical incident resolution activities

- Evaluate and implement NoSQL database frameworks and optimize distributed database environments

- Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in database engineering, administration, and support

- Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise production environments

- Strong experience administering and supporting :

1. Oracle Database

2. Cassandra

3. MySQL

4. SQL databases

- Extensive experience with :

1. Oracle installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching

2. Performance tuning and query optimization

3. Backup and recovery strategies

4. RAC, Data Guard, clustering, and replication technologies

- Hands-on experience with NoSQL technologies including :

1. Cluster deployment and maintenance

2. Performance tuning and optimization

3. Evaluation of distributed database frameworks

- Strong experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools :

1. Ansible

2. Terraform

- Strong Linux system administration and basic networking knowledge

- Expertise in SQL scripting, query optimization, and database performance tuning

- Proficiency in scripting and automation using :

1. Python

2. Shell Scripting

3. Perl

- Experience working in high-availability and mission-critical production environments

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
