Role Overview :

As a Database Architect specializing in Couchbase, you will serve as the technical authority for our NoSQL data strategy. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining high-availability database clusters that serve as the backbone for our core applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with software engineering teams, DevOps engineers, and product stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data models. Your work directly influences the performance, latency, and reliability of our platforms, ensuring that our users experience seamless data interactions even under significant load.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement complex NoSQL database schemas using Couchbase to support high-throughput, low-latency application requirements.

- Optimize database performance by conducting deep-dive analysis of query patterns, indexing strategies, and cluster configurations to ensure maximum efficiency.

- Lead the migration and integration of legacy data systems into modern Couchbase architectures to improve overall system scalability.

- Establish best practices for data modeling, backup, recovery, and security protocols to protect critical business information.

- Mentor junior engineering staff on database best practices and provide technical guidance during critical production incidents.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement proactive monitoring solutions.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing large-scale Couchbase deployments in production environments.

- Strong proficiency in NoSQL database architecture, including deep knowledge of bucket design, N1QL querying, and memory management.

- Proven ability to perform complex database performance tuning and capacity planning for distributed systems.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical data strategies to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.

- A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively within a hybrid team structure based in Bangalore.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, combined with 6 - 12 years of relevant experience in database engineering.
