ETL Developer - Power BI

Job Summary :

Primary skill : ETL Datastage, Power BI, SQL (Oracle & PostGRE), Unix SH

Key Responsibilities :

- IBM Datastage 11.7 and SQL-PLSQL

- Working knowledge Oracle and PostGRE database

- Should have hands on experience in unix shell scripting

- Strong proficiency in writing and tuning SQL queries and Good knowledge on Datawarehouse models.

- Exposure in Data Analysis, design, report development and unit test experience with Power BI (POWERBI desktop, POWERBI Server and cloud).

- Performance Optimization in Reports and queries.

- Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly and transform into visuals.

- Ability analyze the models and build new models in POWERBI

- Ability to manage and monitor the schedules.

- An ability to independently research and solve complex reporting issues (Troubleshooting

skills).

- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Must provide hands-on technical knowledge and take ownership while working with Business

users, Project Managers, Technical Leads, Architects and Testing teams.

- Provide guidance to IT management in establishing both a short-term roadmap and long-term DW/BI strategy.

- Work closely with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless development and delivery of assigned tasks.

- Assist the team/lead in team management, identifying training needs and inducting new starters

- Take part in discussions on BI/DW forums alongside peers to the benefit of the organization

Knowledge Expectation :

normalization, de-normalization, data modelling, relationship models, ER Diagrams, etc.

- Understanding of Database management system, specifically RDBMS principles like

normalization, de-normalization, data modelling, relationship models, ER Diagrams, etc.

- Understanding of methods to analyze and extract the data using Structured query languages.

- Ability to learn data extraction and different transformation methodologys using Algorithms,

techniques and ETL Tools.

- Fundamentals of data warehouse and different schemas.

- Understanding of data security principles.

- Understanding of methods to access & model the data and turn to actionable insights using BI Tools

- Understanding of Operating system scripting Shell scripting

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
