About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced GCP DevOps Engineer / Senior Engineer / Lead to design, implement, automate, and manage highly scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Pub/Sub, and Secret Manager.

- Design and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters for production workloads.

- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

- Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for application build, testing, deployment, and release management.

- Work with tools such as Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.

- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployments, and operational processes.

- Implement containerization using Docker and manage containerized applications across development, staging, and production environments.

- Configure and manage Kubernetes resources including deployments, services, ingress, config maps, secrets, autoscaling, and namespaces.

- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across cloud infrastructure and applications.

- Work with Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar observability tools.

- Identify and troubleshoot infrastructure, application deployment, networking, performance, and production issues.

- Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, service accounts, secrets management, network security, least-privilege access, and secure deployment practices.

- Design and manage VPC networks, subnets, firewall rules, load balancers, VPNs, and other cloud networking components.

- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

- Implement backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity practices.

- Collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, QA, and product teams to enable reliable application delivery.

- Establish DevOps standards, reusable deployment frameworks, automation practices, and operational processes.

- Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, architecture, and operational procedures.

- Participate in production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- For Lead-level candidates, provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, conduct design reviews, and drive DevOps/cloud engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.

- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Strong experience with GKE / Kubernetes in production environments.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Experience with Docker and containerized application environments.

- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.

- Good scripting experience with Shell/Bash and/or Python.

- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPC, subnets, firewall rules, DNS, load balancing, VPN, and routing.

- Experience with GCP IAM, service accounts, secrets management, and cloud security.

- Experience with Git and modern source-control workflows.

- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, and Grafana.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, and deployment environments.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Google Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, or Secret Manager.

- Knowledge of Helm and Kubernetes package management.

- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.

- Exposure to service mesh technologies such as Istio.

- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, and incident management.

- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.

- Relevant GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
