The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer - Network is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of mainframe network infrastructure within complex enterprise environments. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity across mainframe systems, while supporting business-critical applications. The position requires deep technical expertise in mainframe networking technologies and close collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, configure, implement, and support mainframe network components and subsystems

- Manage and support mainframe networking technologies including TCP/IP, VTAM, and related connectivity services

- Provide Level 3 support for complex network incidents, performance issues, and problem resolution

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of mainframe network environments

- Perform system tuning, capacity planning, and performance optimization for network components

- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures

- Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver network solutions

- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and audit requirements

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements / Qualifications :

Required :

- Extensive experience in mainframe systems programming with a strong focus on networking

- Hands-on expertise with mainframe network technologies such as TCP/IP, VTAM, FTP/SFTP, and related protocols

- Strong understanding of z/OS networking concepts and system integration

- Experience in troubleshooting complex network and connectivity issues in mainframe environments

- Ability to support 24x7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred :

- Experience working in enterprise or managed services environments

- Exposure to network security concepts and controls in mainframe environments

- Familiarity with performance monitoring and capacity management tools

- Ability to work directly with clients using a consultative approach
