Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of engineers, driving technical excellence and collaboration.
- Provide architectural vision and hands-on guidance in system design, code reviews, and performance optimization.
- Own the roadmap planning, execution, and delivery of core backend services and infrastructure.
- Partner with product, AI/ML, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
- Establish and enforce best practices in software engineering : testing, CI/CD, Agile methodologies, observability, and monitoring.
- Play a key role in scaling systems for reliability, security, and high availability.
- Contribute to hiring, building, and nurturing engineering talent.
- Balance short-term deliverables with long-term architectural direction.
Requirements :
- 8+ years of full-time engineering experience, with at least 2+ years of people management in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies : Java (Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC), microservices.
- Experience in system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
- Proven track record of leading teams through 0-1 product journeys and scaling systems.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus).
- Familiarity with front-end development principles and how they integrate with backend systems.
- Solid grasp of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, Agile practices.
- Prior exposure to high-scale product environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
