Engineering Manager - Java/Spring Boot

About the Role :

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot), distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures on AWS.

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers to design, build, and scale high-performance SaaS products.

You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, fostering a strong engineering culture, and partnering closely with product and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

Candidates with exposure to Python/Go, event-streaming platforms like Kafka or Kinesis, and modern LLM/AI integrations will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team through coaching, feedback, and career development.

- Own the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-native applications.

- Lead hands-on development efforts, especially in Java (Spring Boot) and distributed systems.

- Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and delivery timelines.

- Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, CI/CD, testing, reliability, and observability.

- Make high-quality architectural decisions involving microservices, event-driven systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

- Oversee and improve system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency on AWS.

- Guide the team in adopting modern engineering practices, tools, and technologies.

- Support integration of AI/LLM capabilities into product features where applicable.

- Manage resource planning, hiring, and team productivity.

- Ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining a focus on engineering excellence and customer impact.

Required Skills & Experience :

Strong hands-on expertise in :

- Distributed systems

- AWS cloud-native architecture

- Solid understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, RESTful APIs, and cloud best practices.

- Experience leading engineering teams in a SaaS or product-based environment.

- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with technical depth and hands-on contributions.
