About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager Full Stack Engineering who brings together strong people leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and modern engineering practices. This is a player-coach role, where you will actively contribute to development (~50% hands-on coding) while leading one or more Agile Scrum teams delivering enterprise-scale applications.

A key expectation for this role is the practical, day-to-day use of AI to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery speed. You will drive AI adoption within the team, explore emerging AI capabilities, and mentor engineers on responsible and effective AI-assisted development practices.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Development :

- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing full-stack engineering teams

- Create a collaborative, psychologically safe environment focused on ownership and continuous improvement

- Manage Agile Scrum pods to ensure predictable delivery and strong team execution

- Support engineers in technical growth and effective use of AI tools

- Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, and engineering excellence

Hands-on Technical Leadership (~50%) :

- Contribute directly to production-grade backend and frontend development

- Lead by example through high-quality coding, testing, and architecture practices

- Drive solution design with focus on scalability, reliability, security, and observability

- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards

- Troubleshoot critical issues and lead root-cause analysis initiatives

AI-Driven Engineering & Innovation (Must Have) :

- Use AI tools as part of everyday engineering workflows, including:

- Coding and refactoring

- Code reviews and quality analysis

- Architecture and design ideation

- Documentation generation

- Performance and optimization improvements

Additional expectations :

- Champion AI adoption across teams

- Establish best practices and responsible AI usage guidelines

- Coach teams on leveraging AI effectively in development workflows

- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and practical applications

Delivery & Operational Excellence :

- Lead sprint planning, backlog management, estimation, and delivery execution

- Identify and mitigate delivery risks and technical debt

- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards

- Drive reliability, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives

- Lead post-release reviews and incident follow-ups

Reporting & Stakeholder Management :

- Deliver clear, data-driven updates to leadership

- Translate technical information into business-friendly communication

- Collaborate effectively across product, architecture, operations, and business teams

- Work successfully across distributed teams and global environments

Preferred Technical Skills :

- Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Node.js

- Frontend: React, TypeScript (Angular/Vue acceptable)

- Cloud: AWS (EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda)

- Architecture: Microservices, REST APIs

- DevOps: GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, CloudBees, CI/CD pipelines

- Additional: Scalability, security, resiliency, observability, metrics, dashboards, AI-assisted engineering tools

Desired Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

- 10 to 12+ years of software engineering experience

- Prior people management experience

- Strong experience leading Agile/Scrum teams

- Proven experience building enterprise-scale full-stack systems
