About the Role :

We're looking for a skilled Engineering Manager with 5-10 years of experience to lead our team in Gurgaon. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can guide and mentor a team of backend, frontend, and full-stack engineers to build high-quality, scalable solutions.

This role is at the intersection of technical excellence and people management, requiring a proven ability to drive projects from concept to delivery while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Experience in the healthcare domain is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities :

- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5-15 engineers. Conduct regular 1:1s, provide performance feedback, and actively support the career growth of team members.

- Project Execution: Own the delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to high-quality standards. This includes overseeing healthcare-focused workflows.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to translate complex business requirements into clear, technical specifications and scalable solutions.

- Technical Guidance & Architecture: Guide the team in designing, developing, and deploying robust backend services and user-friendly frontend applications. You will also own critical system architecture decisions, ensuring the solutions are scalable, performant, and reliable.

- Process & Quality: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and CI/CD processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across all teams.

- System Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring solutions to proactively track system performance and address issues. Oversee application performance management (APM) and incident response.

- Hiring & Onboarding: Manage the hiring process, including interviewing and onboarding, to build and expand a high-performing engineering team.

- Compliance: Ensure all applications and processes are compliant with strict healthcare industry standards, such as HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and other data privacy and security regulations.

Technical Skills :

- Backend: Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Express.js / Fastify

- Frontend: React.js, Redux Toolkit, CSS/SCSS, Accessibility standards

- Databases: MongoDB, Redis, MySQL

- Messaging & Event-Driven Systems: Kafka, SQS, Redis Pub/Sub

- Cloud & DevOps: AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch), Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines

- Testing & Quality: Jest, Mocha, API testing, React Testing Library

- System Design: Distributed systems, architecture, database design

Must-Have :

- Proven experience in leading engineering teams (515 engineers) with both backend and frontend skill sets

- Solid experience in API-first development and system integration

- Understanding of healthcare workflows / enterprise application development

- Ability to balance hands-on technical guidance with people and delivery management

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Good to Have :

- Prior experience building healthcare or supply chain applications

- Experience in scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced startup or growth environment
