Engineering Manager - Backend System

Responsibilities :

- Drive architecture, design, and development of scalable and reliable backend platforms.

- Define and deliver on the technical roadmap in alignment with business goals.

- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery.

- Establish and maintain engineering best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability.

- Hire, mentor, and grow engineers; build a high-performance, motivated team culture. Participate in high level technical decisions and reviews.

- Ensure uptime, performance, and scalability across backend systems. Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools.

Requirements :

- Strong hands-on background in one or more backend stacks : Java, Go, Node.js, Python, or similar.

- Proven experience designing and scaling microservices, distributed systems, and high-traffic architectures.

- Deep understanding of system design, APIs, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).

- Solid grasp of DevOps, CI/CD, and monitoring practices.

- Excellent people management, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.

- Experience in fintech, consumer tech, or the payments domain is a plus.

Good to Have :

- Prior startup or scale-up experience.

- Exposure to security, compliance, or data privacy frameworks.
