Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Engineer specializing in HashiCorp Vault to join our infrastructure security team in Hyderabad or Pune. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary architect and custodian of our secret management ecosystem, ensuring that sensitive credentials, encryption keys, and certificates are handled with enterprise-grade security. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Security Operations teams to integrate Vault seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines and multi-cloud environments. Your work will directly impact the organization's security posture, reducing the risk of credential leakage and enabling automated, compliant access management for our global customer-facing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

- Architect and maintain highly available HashiCorp Vault clusters to provide a centralized, secure source of truth for secrets across distributed environments.

- Automate the lifecycle of secrets, including dynamic credential generation and rotation, to minimize the attack surface for our development and production workloads.

- Integrate HashiCorp Vault with existing CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services to ensure seamless, secure authentication and authorization for microservices.

- Define and enforce granular security policies and access control lists to ensure that only authorized services and users can access sensitive data.

- Troubleshoot complex integration issues and performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and low-latency access for mission-critical applications.

- Mentor junior engineers on security best practices and the adoption of infrastructure-as-code principles to foster a culture of security-first development.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in deploying, configuring, and managing HashiCorp Vault at scale, including familiarity with seal wrapping, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

- Proven ability to design and implement robust DevOps workflows, with a deep understanding of how to integrate secret management into automated deployment pipelines.

- Strong proficiency in HashiCorp integration patterns, including the use of Vault agents, sidecars, and API-driven secret retrieval methods.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security architectures to both technical stakeholders and non-technical management teams.

- A collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, coordinating effectively across distributed teams in Hyderabad and Pune.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 6 to 15 years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure or security engineering.
