We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead who can provide strong technical direction, mentor developers, and drive critical engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and modern engineering practices. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, the ability to guide teams, and ownership of delivering high-quality enterprise-grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to a team of Java developers, ensuring adherence to best engineering practices.

- Drive technical initiatives across teams with minimal guidance, converting broad directions into actionable engineering tasks.

- Oversee end-to-end API development including API design, lifecycle management, documentation, and governance.

- Ensure robust API security implementation including AuthN/AuthZ, OAuth 2.0, OpenID, PKCE, and adherence to OWASP guidelines.

- Apply strong understanding of REST fundamentals and OAS (OpenAPI Specification) for high-quality API documentation and error handling.

- Contribute hands-on by writing production-grade code using Java and open-source technologies; Python exposure and SDK development experience is a strong plus.

- Architect, design, and develop microservices-based systems using Kafka/message brokers and event-driven patterns.

- Provide database design expertise and work with both SQL and NoSQL data stores.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and driving solutions independently once high-level guidance is given.

- Quickly learn new concepts, technologies, and domain requirementseven without prior telecom experience.

- Experience with API Gateways and exposure to customer-facing API ecosystems is a strong advantage.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and backend engineering.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.

- Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams.

- Strong expertise in API design, lifecycle management, security, documentation, and provider/consumer flows.

- Solid knowledge of microservices, Kafka/message brokers, and event-driven architecture.

- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.

- Strong understanding of REST, OAS, and cloud-native design principles.

- Ability to deliver independently without detailed direction and drive cross-team initiatives effectively.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Python scripting and SDK development exposure.

- Experience with API Gateways (Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, etc.).

- Experience working with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
