In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be :

Team and People Development :

- Build an inclusive and encouraging environment for employees within the organization for the purpose of new product development and sustenance of M [GM1] &A products.

- Develop and implement strategies towards talent development and aligning to the vision of global product group and local management.

- Identify and implement plans for technical competency development within M&A group.

- Attract, develop, appraise, and retain qualified and skilled staff.

- Motivate, empower, and develop the hardware development functional team.

- Contribute and support to manage budget to fund yearly operations and infrastructure, people development.

- Build culture of collaboration, transparency, result oriented project teams with strong alignment to respective business sites.

Project & Delivery Management :

- Steer the Hardware development team in M&A to ensure delivery of projects/products to time and budget.

- Ensure projects [GM2] /programs are well defined, prioritized, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner well aligned with global functional leads for the group.

- Closely work with Global Measurement & Analytical Functional leaders understanding product roadmap, priorities and program management.

Process & Quality Improvement :

- Facilitate evaluation of tools, technologies, and processes.

- Continuously improve development processes and tools for productivity.

- Interact with Emerson Measurement & Analytical engineering teams to identify synergies and best practices and share across other product groups in Measurement Solutions and within M&A for maximizing benefits.

- Engage in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor management where applicable.

- Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

For This Role, You Will Need:

- Bachelors or masters degree in engineering.

- Overall 15+ yrs of experience in Firmware Development domain with 3-5 years of experience in leadership.

- Strong domain experience with knowledge of software development lifecycle with and experience of working with NPD stage gate process, tools and methodologies.

- Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, code reviews, to provide required guidance.

- Excellent technical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining high-performance new product development teams.

- Understand the Measurement solutions business to encourage sharing of new ideas and best practices within the group.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment within a complex global organization.

- Experience of leading functional teams and work effectively with internation teams.

- Ability to flex working hours to accommodate global time differences.

Technical & Engineering :


- Leadership Strong understanding of hardwarefirmwaresoftware co-design and system-level architecture.


- Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and low-level hardware interfaces.


- Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508) is a plus. Exposure to digital transformation, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and smart instrumentation concepts.


- Ability to guide teams on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for testability (DFT), and lifecycle support.


Program & Stakeholder :


- Management Proven ability to manage cross-functional dependencies across hardware, firmware, software, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing.


- Strong experience in stakeholder expectation management, including senior leadership and external partners.


- Ability to balance short-term delivery pressures with long-term technology and capability building.


- Experience managing risk, issue escalation, and mitigation planning at program level.


People & Organizational Effectiveness :


- Experience in succession planning and leadership pipeline development.


- Capability to manage performance improvement plans and difficult personnel situations professionally and constructively.


- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, including developing first-time managers and technical leads. Ability to lead teams through organizational change and ambiguity.


Process, Compliance & Governance :


- Familiarity with engineering governance models, audits, and compliance requirements. Experience driving process standardization across geographically distributed teams.


- Understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma awareness level).


Business & Strategic :


- Acumen Ability to translate business strategy into engineering execution plans.


- Experience with cost optimization, value engineering, and ROI-based technical decision-making.


- Understanding of market needs, customer use cases, and competitive benchmarking to guide product development.


- Comfort working with KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to track team and product performance.


Communication & Influence :


- Strong ability to influence without authority in a matrix organization.


- Experience presenting complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.


- Skilled at facilitating technical and strategic discussions across cultures and geographies.


Nice-to-Have / Future-Ready Skills :


- Exposure to AI/ML applications in measurement, analytics, or diagnostics.


- Experience working with cloud-connected products or data platforms.


- Knowledge of open-source compliance and software licensing models
