Role Overview :

As a Senior Database Programmer, you will serve as a technical anchor for our data infrastructure, ensuring that our complex database systems remain performant, scalable, and secure. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, data architects, and business stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into robust database designs and optimized queries.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and maintain high-performance database schemas to support mission-critical applications and large-scale data processing requirements.

- Optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to improve system latency and resource utilization for internal stakeholders.

- Collaborate with software developers to integrate database solutions into existing application architectures, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity.

- Implement advanced security protocols and data governance practices to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with global data standards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance bottlenecks to minimize downtime and maintain high availability for global business operations.

- Mentor junior database developers by conducting code reviews and promoting best practices in database design and development.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing large-scale relational databases, with a deep understanding of database internals and performance tuning techniques.

- Proven ability to write complex, efficient SQL code and manage database migrations in a fast-paced, enterprise-level environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical database concepts to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment in Bengaluru, coordinating effectively with global teams across different time zones.

- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, backed by 10 to 12 years of professional experience in database programming and administration.

- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying potential system risks and implementing preventative measures.
