Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced F5 Distributed Cloud (F5 XC) Engineer to lead the migration of enterprise applications across NAM and EMEA from on-premises data centers to the F5 Distributed Cloud (XC) platform.

This role will own the end-to-end technical onboarding, migration, validation, and optimization of applications, while collaborating closely with Application Owners, Network, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on expertise with F5 XC, application networking, security, and large-scale migration programs, and can operate independently in complex, multi-region enterprise environments.

- Prior experience leading NAM/EMEA regional rollouts

Key Responsibilities :

1. Application Discovery & Requirement Gathering

Engage with Application Owners, Architects, and Infrastructure teams to :

- Understand application architecture, dependencies, traffic flows, and business requirements

- Gather performance, security, availability, compliance, and latency requirements

Perform application assessments including :

- L4/L7 traffic patterns

- SSL/TLS requirements

- DNS, WAF, API security, and access controls

- Validate readiness and define migration scope for each application.

2. Migration Planning & Design :

Design target-state architectures on F5 Distributed Cloud, including :

- Application Delivery & Load Balancing o WAF and API Protection

- Secure Multi-Cloud Networking

Coordinate dependencies across on-prem, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and XC environments.

3. Technical Implementation & Onboarding :

Configure and deploy applications on F5 XC, including :

- SSL/TLS certificates and policies

- WAF, API security, and rate limiting o Identity and access integrations (OIDC, SSO, mTLS)

Integrate F5 XC with :

- Existing network infrastructure

- CI/CD pipelines

- DNS, IAM, and logging/monitoring tools

- Ensure security controls align with enterprise standards and regional compliance requirements.

4. Migration Execution & Cutover :

- Execute application migrations with minimal downtime.

- Perform traffic steering, gradual cutovers, and real-time monitoring during migrations.

- Troubleshoot network, application, and security issues during transition.

- Coordinate with global teams across time zones (NAM & EMEA).

6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation

- Serve as technical SME for F5 XC migrations.

Provide clear communication to :

- Application owners

- Security teams

- Program and delivery managers

Create and maintain :

- Architecture diagrams

- Migration playbooks

- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)

- Provide knowledge transfer and onboarding support for operations teams.

Required Technical Skills Core F5 & Networking :

Strong hands-on experience with :

- F5 Distributed Cloud (XC) services

- F5 LTM/GTM (preferred)

Deep understanding of :

- L4/L7 networking

- TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS

- SSL/TLS, certificates, ciphers Application & Cloud Technologies

Experience migrating applications from :

- On-premises data centers

- Hybrid and multi-cloud environments

Working knowledge of :

- AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud

- Kubernetes, containerized apps (preferred)

Understanding of application architectures :

- Monolithic and microservices Security Expertise

Strong experience with :

- Web Application Firewalls (WAF)

- API Security and Gateway concepts

- DDoS and Bot protection

- Knowledge of enterprise security compliance standards (PCI, SOC2, ISO, etc.) Automation & Operations

Experience with :

- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

- CI/CD pipelines

Proficiency in :

- Linux systems

- Scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)

- Hands-on troubleshooting and operational support in production environments. Soft Skills & Competencies
