Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases and data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in database development, performance tuning, query optimization, and data migration projects. The role requires close collaboration with application development, DevOps, and business teams to deliver scalable and high-performing database solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and database objects.

- Create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

- Analyze and improve database performance through query optimization and indexing strategies.

- Implement database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.

- Perform data modeling, schema design, and database architecture enhancements.

- Troubleshoot database performance bottlenecks and production issues.

- Support data migration and ETL processes between multiple systems.

- Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.

- Collaborate with developers and architects to implement database best practices.

- Monitor database health and proactively address performance concerns.

Required Skills :

- 8+ years of experience with PostgreSQL database development and administration.

- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

- Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning and query optimization.

- Knowledge of database replication, partitioning, indexing, and backup/recovery strategies.

- Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.

- Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization techniques.

- Experience integrating PostgreSQL with enterprise applications and APIs.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).

- Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.

- Experience with monitoring tools such as pgAdmin, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar solutions.

- Exposure to Python, Shell Scripting, or other automation tools.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- PostgreSQL certification is a plus.
