We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering Platform to lead the transformation and modernization of a large-scale enterprise platform built on microservices architecture.
This strategic leadership role will drive engineering excellence, oversee globally distributed teams, and accelerate innovation through AI-enabled development practices.
You will play a pivotal role in scaling platform capabilities, reducing technical debt, modernizing systems, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions that align with business and product objectives.
Key Responsibilities for this role :
- Lead modernization and evolution of a platform microservices architecture.
- Define and execute engineering strategies aligned with business and product goals.
- Partner with Product to build and maintain platform technology roadmaps.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing global engineering teams.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering initiatives.
- Ensure platform scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
- Drive technical debt reduction and system modernization.
- Champion API-first and integration-driven development practices.
- Oversee B2B API platform development and partner integrations.
- Guide ERP system integrations to ensure seamless data flow and process alignment.
- Embed GenAI and AI-assisted development across the SDLC for faster time-to-market.
- Manage engineering budgets and optimize resource utilization.
- Lead the transition from regional engineering silos to unified global teams.
Required Experience & Skills :
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 6+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in platform and SaaS architecture.
- Proven experience building and scaling large distributed systems.
- Strong background in Agile, cloud-native, and high-availability architectures.
- Experience managing hiring, performance, and career development.
- Strong understanding of software cost and infrastructure economics.
Technical expertise in :
- Java, AWS, RedHat, Golang.
- Microservices & APIs.
- ETL tools and front-end technologies.
- GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Jira.
- Experience leveraging AI code assistants to improve engineering productivity.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
