About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to manage and optimize our Azure-based infrastructure, with a focus on secure deployments, automation, and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Azure cloud services, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and secure access to MS SQL databases.

This role is critical in designing, deploying, and securing cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on security, scalability, and compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST standards.

Position Primary Responsibilities :

- Analyse Azure infrastructure and implement cost optimization strategies (e.g., VM right-sizing, backup tiering, storage lifecycle policies).

- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, integrated with GitHub or Bitbucket.

- Provision and manage secure environments (production, staging, demo) using Terraform and ARM templates.

- Implement and enforce security best practices including private network configuration, VPN access, and database access restrictions.

- Administer access and connectivity to Microsoft SQL Server hosted on Azure, ensuring secure point-to-site VPN connectivity and role-based access.

- Define and enforce code repository standards (code owners, branch protection, merge rules).

- Set up and manage monitoring/alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and PagerDuty.

- Collaborate across teams to ensure automated, secure, and reliable deployments in line with DevOps best practices.

- Ensure HIPAA and HITRUST compliance by implementing strong security controls, encryption, logging, and access management.

- Monitor and maintain public-facing web applications, optimizing for performance, security, and reliability.

- Collaborate with security teams to implement incident response best practices.

- Troubleshoot networking and application connectivity issues in Azure environments.

- Stay up to date with Azure security best practices, compliance regulations, and emerging cloud technologies.

Minimum Qualifications :

- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles with Azure infrastructure.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure (VMs, VNets, Storage, Backup, Monitor, Cost Management).

- Expertise in Terraform, ARM Templates, and Infrastructure as Code practices.

- CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell.

- Experience managing and securing Microsoft SQL Server in Azure (including private access and backups).

- Familiarity with OIDC, Okta, or Azure AD for identity and access management.

- Monitoring and incident response setup using Azure-native tools and PagerDuty.

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex networking and cloud infrastructure issues.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance.

- Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-400, DP-300 for SQL).

- Knowledge of Agile/DevOps lifecycle and best practices.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.

- Knowledge of SOC 2, NIST, and other security compliance frameworks.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Good to have exposure working on AWS.
