Job Summary :

We are looking for a Developer Experience Engineer to improve the productivity, efficiency and overall experience of software engineering teams by building and maintaining developer-focused tools, platforms and automation solutions.

The role focuses on streamlining software development workflows, improving CI/CD processes, developing internal developer platforms, automating repetitive engineering tasks and establishing standardized development environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals, platform engineering knowledge and experience building tools that simplify the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop and maintain internal developer tools, platforms and engineering productivity solutions.

- Build and enhance developer portals, self-service tools and standardized development environments.

- Improve developer workflows by automating repetitive tasks and reducing manual engineering effort.

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, testing and deployment processes.

- Implement infrastructure automation and developer environment provisioning.

- Build reusable templates, libraries, SDKs and software development utilities.

- Improve local development workflows, including environment setup, dependency management and configuration.

- Integrate developer tools with version control systems, build platforms, testing frameworks and deployment environments.

- Establish standardized workflows for code quality, testing, security checks and release management.

- Identify bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle and implement solutions to improve engineering productivity.

- Develop monitoring and observability solutions to improve application and development pipeline visibility.

- Collaborate with application developers, DevOps engineers, platform teams and architects to understand developer challenges.

- Maintain technical documentation, onboarding guides and engineering best practices.

- Drive continuous improvements in developer experience, platform reliability and engineering efficiency.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong software engineering experience with proficiency in Python, Go, Java or similar programming languages.

- Hands-on experience developing internal developer tools, automation frameworks or engineering productivity solutions.

- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software development lifecycle practices.

- Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab or similar version control platforms.

- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and container-based development environments.

- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash or similar technologies.

- Knowledge of build systems, package management, dependency management and application deployment workflows.

- Experience with REST APIs, microservices and system integrations.

- Understanding of software testing, code quality tools and automated validation processes.

- Familiarity with monitoring, logging and observability practices.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and translate developer requirements into technical solutions.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) and Platform Engineering.

- Familiarity with Backstage or similar developer portal frameworks.

- Knowledge of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or Argo CD.

- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native development practices.

- Familiarity with Helm, Kubernetes operators and service deployment automation.

- Experience with developer productivity metrics and engineering workflow optimization.

- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Exposure to security automation, vulnerability scanning and DevSecOps practices.

- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog or OpenTelemetry.
