We are seeking a highly skilled DataStax Developer with 7+ years of experience in Apache Cassandra/DataStax Enterprise (DSE) to design, develop, and optimize scalable distributed database solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cassandra data modeling, CQL development, application performance tuning, and distributed data architecture, working closely with application and database teams to deliver high-performing, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Design & Development :

- Design and optimize Cassandra/DSE data models, tables, partition keys, and clustering keys based on application requirements.

- Develop and maintain efficient, scalable database schemas using Cassandra Query Language (CQL).

- Design and implement schema evolution strategies while ensuring data consistency and application compatibility.

- Apply Cassandra data modeling best practices to support high-throughput, low-latency applications.

Application Development & Performance :

- Develop, optimize, and tune CQL queries for improved application performance.

- Build and integrate applications using DataStax drivers.

- Analyze and optimize database access patterns to improve application response times and scalability.

- Collaborate with application teams to identify and resolve query performance bottlenecks.

Data Engineering :

- Develop and test scripts for data cleanup, synchronization, repairs, and migration activities.

- Support bulk data loading and data transformation processes.

- Ensure efficient handling of large-scale distributed datasets.

Performance Optimization :

- Evaluate and optimize query execution plans and database performance.

- Recommend improvements to data models and application design for better scalability and efficiency.

- Support performance benchmarking and capacity optimization initiatives.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with DBAs, DevOps, architects, and application development teams.

- Participate in application design reviews and database design discussions.

- Provide technical guidance on Cassandra best practices and performance optimization.

- Support production deployments and troubleshoot application-related database issues.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7+ years of experience developing applications with Apache Cassandra, preferably using DataStax Enterprise (DSE).

- Hands-on experience with Cassandra data modeling, schema design, and partition key optimization.

- Strong expertise in Cassandra Query Language (CQL) development and query optimization.

- Experience building applications using DataStax drivers.

- Experience designing scalable distributed data architectures and implementing schema evolution.

- Strong understanding of Cassandra performance tuning and application optimization techniques.

- Experience developing automation and utility scripts using Bash and/or Python.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
