Role : Database Engineer (5+ Years Experience)
Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer with 4+ years of experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing databases. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance tuning, security, and integrity of enterprise databases.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational databases.
- Install, configure, and manage database servers such as : Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL (Mandatory).
- Work with NoSQL databases like : MongoDB and Cassandra.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database health, availability, and capacity planning.
- Ensure database security, encryption, and access controls.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
- Support data migration, replication, and clustering.
- Collaborate with application and DevOps teams for deployments.
- Maintain documentation of database architecture and configurations.
Required Skills :
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in database administration/engineering.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and query optimization.
- Experience with database performance tuning tools.
- Knowledge of high availability (HA) and replication concepts.
- Experience in database monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with cloud database services such as : AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL.
- Understanding of data modeling and normalization techniques.
- Experience with ETL processes is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in DevOps and CI/CD integration.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
